Shannon Lucy, Aurora Police Department
In August of 1987, Shannon joined the Aurora Police Department. She served as a Patrol officer for approximately six years, and as a Gang Unit officer for approximately one year. Shannon was then assigned to the Training Academy for approximately five years as an instructor of both physical skills and academics. In May of 1995, she was promoted to the rank of Agent. In late 1998, Shannon transferred from Training to the Crimes Against Children Unit, where she worked as a detective until January of 2001. Shannon then transferred to the Major Crime/Homicide Unit, where she served until January of 2007. At that time, she was assigned to the Media Relations Unit as a PIO, where Shannon currently serves.

Becky O'Guin, South Metro Fire Rescue Authority
Becky O’Guin has worked in the public, not for profit, and private sectors, her work experience includes; her current position as the Community Relations Director for the South Metro Fire Rescue Authority. She has worked in the fire service for more than three years serving as the Public Information Officer. Prior to that, Becky worked at The Salvation Army as the Public Relations Director and Emergency Disaster Services PIO for four years. Before going in to public information, she worked as an assistant editor for the National Cattlemen’s Association where she wrote and edited stories for the National Cattlemen magazine and the Web site. After college Becky worked as a print reporter for almost two years. She graduated from Metropolitan State College in 1996 with a degree in Journalism. Other work experience includes restaurant management, bookkeeping, and property management.
Becky participates in cardio kickboxing when she has time and enjoys skiing and golf as well. In addition, she volunteers at her church and for the Colorado Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

Lynn Kimbrough, Denver District Attorney's Office
Lynn is the Communications Director for the Denver District Attorney’s Office and serves as the assistant JIC manager for Denver’s Office of Emergency Management. Her first career was in radio news, working primarily for KOA Radio in Denver. She went on to serve as the first civilian public information officer for the Lakewood Police Department before joining the Denver DA’s Office in 1999. Lynn also is a reserve disaster assistance employee for FEMA, available for deployment as a public affairs specialist on presidentially-declared disasters and is part of the training staff for the Risk Communication Division of Argonne National Laboratory. She graduated with a BS in Journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder and makes her home in Arvada with her partner Barb.

Bob Friel, Aurora Police Department
Robert Friel is an 11-year veteran of the Aurora Police Department. He is originally from Ventura County, California and a graduate of the University of Colorado.
Robert began his career in law enforcement in 1991 with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He was stationed in the Los Angeles and Denver Field Offices before being drawn to the job both his grandfathers had done in years past for the Beverly Hills and Los Angeles Police Departments.
Today, Robert is one of three sworn members assigned to the Aurora Police Department’s media relations unit and has served in this position for four years. Together the unit works to maintain a strong partnership with the news media and keep the community informed about police related activity. Robert considers it an honor to be a member of the Department’s media relations team and a special privilege to serve as the 2010 treasurer for the ESPIOC.

Wendy Forbes, North Metro Fire Rescue District
Wendy Forbes is the Public Information Officer for North Metro Fire Rescue. As the first PIO for this agency she is working with media representatives and the general public to ensure information is accessible and accurate about fire and life safety as well as emergency incidents. Prior to joining North Metro in May 2002, Wendy worked for Littleton Fire Rescue as the Community Relations Officer and Public Information Officer for over two and a half years. She also has over five years of communication and media relations experience in the finance industry where she held the Director of Public Relations position at Westcore Mutual Fund Company and Media Relations Specialist position for the College for Financial Planning.
Wendy’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication with minors in Spanish and English from La Salle University in Philadelphia and a Master’s degree in Speech Communication from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Wendy hopes to continue giving back to ESPIOC through serving as a Director At-Large.

John Hahn, Colorado State Patrol
Sergeant John Hahn began his career with the Colorado State Patrol in 1999. After graduating from the Colorado State Patrol Academy, he was assigned to Troop 1C in Castle Rock, Colorado where he spent the next six years as a Field Training Officer, background investigator and Public Information Officer.
Promoted to the rank of sergeant in May of 2005, Hahn was transferred to Troop 1D in Adams County, Colorado. He remained at Troop 1D supervising a dozen field officers until moving to his current assignment.
John currently serves as the section commander of the Colorado State Patrol Public Affairs Unit at State Patrol Headquarters in Lakewood, Colorado. The CSP Public Affairs Unit handles an average of 3,600 media requests annually and is also responsible for conducting safety education programs along the Front Range.

Trevor Materasso, Westminster Police Department
Trevor Materasso works for the Westminster Police Department and is assigned to the Public Information Unit. He has been a police officer for 11 years, working as a patrol officer for six years before transferring to the Investigations Division to serve as the Department's spokesperson. He was recently selected to remain in the Public Information Unit indefinitely, responsible for training new PIOs that rotate through a three person office in three to five year terms. Trevor currently sits on the board for Denver Metro Crime Stoppers, Westminster Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association, and the Westminster Public Safety Recognition Foundation. In 2007, he assisted the ESPIOC Board as a chairperson for the Social Event Committee. Trevor maintains relationships with the Patrol Division through instructing Firearms, Defensive Tactics, Taser, and other law enforcement training. Additionally, he teaches at the Adams and Jefferson County Police Academies.
