Emergency Services Public Information Officers
of Colorado
A non-profit, professional group of Public Information Officers from
a variety of emergency service organizations throughout Colorado.

The Emergency Services Public Information Officers of Colorado (ESPIOC) was created in 1986 to enhance relations between the news media and public safety agencies.

The Emergency Services Public Information Officers of Colorado was created more than 20 years ago to provide professional support to public information officers in the emergency services field.  We have evolved from a handful of active members to our current roster of more than 100 members!

ESPIOC’s main purpose is to further the professional development of emergency services public information officers throughout the State of Colorado. We meet monthly on the second Thursday of each month, alternating training meetings with business meetings throughout the year.

Formal membership is limited to emergency services PIOs but we greatly value the chance to network with colleagues in all areas of public information, public relations, communications and public affairs.  Our meetings are open to members and guests, as are other events planned by the organization such as media tours, training conferences and “media mixers.”

One of the greatest benefits of networking with the ESPIOC is the support you will find from other members.  We all take advantage of the knowledge pool in the organization by reaching out with our questions and concerns.

If you are interested in joining us, either as a member or as an occasional guest at our events, you can stay up to date by checking the calendar schedule.

You may also contact any of our board members!
